Land for Kwagala
Owning land will allow Kwagala Ministries to have a permanent and visible location where people can easily find us and engage with our mission. This will increase awareness of our work, attract more supporters, and ensure that more children and families benefit from our programs.
Support Sustainable Farming Projects:
With land, we will establish farming projects, which are vital for food security. The crops grown, including maize and vegetables, will not only provide nutritious meals for the children but will also serve as an income-generating activity. The proceeds from these crops can help support the costs by alleviating some of the grocery budget at the home. In doing so it will enable Kwagala to rely less on external funding.Skills Development for the Children:
Farming is a crucial part of Ugandan culture, and by engaging the boys in these projects, we will teach them valuable agricultural skills that they can carry with them into adulthood. This hands-on learning experience will empower them to become self-sufficient and contribute meaningfully to their communities in the future.A Stable Home for Vulnerable Children:
Owning land will allow us to build a permanent, safe home for children who have nowhere else to go. This will reduce our dependency on rented spaces and allow us to create a more stable environment for the children. Many of these children have faced trauma, and having a secure, permanent home will foster healing and growth.Creating a Chapel for Spiritual Growth and Discipleship:
As part of our commitment to holistic care, we prioritize the spiritual development of the children. We plan to host Bible studies, worship, and discipleship programs. Having our own facility means we will no longer need to seek external permissions to conduct these activities and pay for rent.Food Storage and Sustainability:
The land will also allow us to build secure storage facilities for the food grown on the farm. This will ensure that the children always have access to healthy, homegrown meals and reduce our dependency on external food sources. It will also enable us to store excess food for future use or to sell, providing additional income.Reducing Rental Costs and Investing in the Future:
Owning land would provide long-term financial relief and enable us to redirect funds towards sustaining and expanding our programs.Supporting the Community and Preventing Child Homelessness:
With a larger space, we will be able to involve the local community in agricultural and social initiatives, providing more opportunities for income and self-sufficiency. The work we do will also help to reduce the number of children who are forced to leave their homes and live on the streets, offering them hope and a place to belong.
Land Requirements:
We are looking for 3 to 5 acres of land to begin with, but if a larger parcel becomes available, we would be open to acquiring up to 10 acres. The more land we have, the greater the potential for expanding our farming and community engagement programs. The price for land in the area we are targeting is approximately $5,000 to $10,000 CAD per acre.
How Donations Will Be Used:
Funds raised will go directly towards purchasing the land and developing the infrastructure needed to support farming, shelter, education, and spiritual programs. We will provide detailed updates and financial transparency to donors, including a shareable file and printed materials for those who wish to learn more and share our vision.
Conclusion and Call to Action:
Kwagala Ministries is on a transformative journey, and owning land is a crucial step towards becoming more self-sufficient, expanding our programs, and continuing to offer hope to vulnerable children. By donating towards this land purchase, you are directly impacting the future of these children, helping us build a stable home, a sustainable livelihood, and a strong community.
Please consider partnering with us in this important mission. Together, we can give these children not just a home, but a future.
